The Central Radio Management Service (Director General Kim Jeongsam) of the Ministry of Science and ICT will hold the "Global Spectrum Management Forum 2024" at the Science and Technology Convention Center on September 4th(Wednesday) at 1:00 PM.

This event, which started in 2021 and is now in its 4th anniversary, will see participation from over 20 countries both online and offline. The forum aims to share issues and information related to spectrum management and discuss international cooperation.

As a pre-event, the Central Radio Management Service organized a demonstration of domestic spectrum technologies and a business meeting with companies on August 28th. This provided the participating countries with an introduction to domestic spectrum technologies and equipment, while also allowing domestic companies to explore export possibilities. On August 29th, participants were also given the opportunity to experience various spectrum-related facilities, including the Central Radio Management Service's Spectrum Control Center and SKT.

The main forum on September 4th will feature a keynote speech on "The Future of Spectrum Management" by Mr. Wi Kyujin, Chairman of the ITU-R SG5. The forum will be structured into three sessions: "Spectrum Management Trends," "Spectrum Technology Utilization," and "International Cooperation."

The "Spectrum Management Trends" session will cover spectrum management policies in South Korea, Nepal, and Indonesia. The "Spectrum Technology Utilization" session will introduce anti-drone and radar sensing technologies, while the final session on "International Cooperation" will discuss ITU-R international standardization trends and the status of mutual recognition agreements (MRA) for conformity assessment in South Korea.

In particular, the forum will present the "AI and Big Data-based Digital Spectrum Management National Report," officially adopted at the ITU-R SG1 international meeting on June 20th.
